Free flowing silk and chiffon dresses in muted pastels and dainty florals ruled the runway at BCBG Max Azria. (Cue us daydreaming of outdoor weddings and candlelit dinners.) But quilted jackets and structured sashes added weight to ensembles and anchored the lighter-than-air looks.

ZAC Zac Posen
Zac Posen's lower-priced line, ZAC Zac Posen, was one for the record books this season in one big respect -- we'd wear every single item in our everyday lives. Posen's brightly colored separates and tailored pieces work for every occasion from date night to the office. That ombre leather jacket is at the top of our wishlist.
Price Range: $500-$1,500

Marc by Marc Jacobs
Marc by Marc Jacobs designer Luella Bartley unofficially labeled the fashions seen at their New York Fashion Week show as "hard-core idealism." The graphic tees, latex fabrics and punk rock layering techniques weren't all our cup of tea, but there were more simple, elegant pieces dispersed throughout the collection -- our favorite of which were some of the more structured black and white pieces.
Price Range: $150-$500

Rebecca Minkoff
Rebecca Minkoff's spring/summer collection has us dreaming up seaside vacations, complete with unruly beach waves and dinners by the shore. Minkoff's collection was mainly blue and white with touches of sea foam green and pale pink. The floppy sunhats and artfully rumpled pieces sold us with their complete effortlessness.
Price Range: $200-$400

Milly
The entire Milly collection felt sporty, sophisticated and artfully shaped, while each piece managed to look so different from the last. Splashy colors mixed with black and white. City-chic office attire mixed with sexy beach cover-ups, and everything simply worked.
Price Range: $200-$900
We love fashion week and all the sneak peeks of gorgeous designer clothing that come with it, but the truth is, most of us can't afford runway looks. We've compiled a list of the most affordable designers who showed at New York Fashion Week and our favorite looks from each fashion week show that we could splurge for here and there. Here, twelve designers whose spring/summer 2015 collections are topping our wishlists.
