Claim: Lily's Sweets markets itself as better-for you, stevia-sweetened chocolate.
What the experts say: "Is Lily's lower in sugar than your standard chocolate bar? Yes. Is it better for you? No!" says Silverman. "Lily's uses erythritol, a sugar alcohol that can cause digestive issues such as diarrhea and other negative health outcomes. I encourage clients to eat dark chocolate (85 percent cacao) instead. Not only is it lower in sugar, but it's higher in antioxidants."
Verdict: Not healthy!

Claim: Smart Sweets markets itself as stevia-sweetened, high fiber gummies with no sugar alcohols or anything artificial.
What the experts say: "If you're getting your fiber from gummies or candy, we have a serious problem to discuss," says Silverman. "Smart Sweets may have 22g of fiber, but that doesn't come with issues. I've heard countless stories of people experiencing abdominal pain, diarrhea and other digestive issues. Candy is just that, C-A-N-D-Y and anyone who tells you differently is wrong."
Verdict: May cause stomachaches!
Claim: Caulipower markets itself as making your favorite foods better — and better for you.
What the experts say: "Because of the cauliflower, I thought it would be nutritionally superior to a regular pizza made with a refined dough, but this pizza is only slightly lower in calories and carbs compared to traditional frozen pizza. I actually think a whole grain crust topped with lots of veggies would be the healthiest choice. I do like that the meats are nitrate-free," says Hillary Cecere, MS, RDN of Eat Clean Bro.
Verdict: Sort of healthy!
Claim: Everything but the Bagel Seasoning is a simple blend to add flavor to dishes.
What the experts say: "This seasoning blend is a low calorie way to add flavor," says Cecere. "It does contain sodium — 80 mg per 1/4 teaspoon, but I think just a sprinkle on eggs, avocado or whole grain toast is totally a healthy way to add flavor."
Verdict: Healthy enough!
Claim: Daily Harvest Bites are marketed as sweet bites filled with good ingredients.
What the experts say: This product has a virtuous ingredient list, but people seem to forget that healthy foods have calories too," says weight loss expert Gladys Ditroia. "The seven-bite portion has a whopping 630 calories, the same as THREE SNICKERS BARS!"
Verdict: Healthy, but VERY CALORIC!
