Claim: Daily Harvest Bites are marketed as sweet bites filled with good ingredients.
What the experts say: This product has a virtuous ingredient list, but people seem to forget that healthy foods have calories too," says weight loss expert Gladys Ditroia. "The seven-bite portion has a whopping 630 calories, the same as THREE SNICKERS BARS!"
Verdict: Healthy, but VERY CALORIC!
Claim: Halo Top markets itself as a low calorie alternative to traditional ice cream.
What the experts say: "This is definitely a good low-calorie alternative to regular ice cream, but I'm not a fan of erythritol, a sugar alcohol used to sweeten Halo Top," says Ditroia. "I have had many clients over the years indulge in the low calorie ice cream nightly and many claim to have stomach issues such as excessive bloating, gas and stomach pain."
Verdict: Low-cal, but may cause stomachaches!
