This look leans a little more high fashion, appropriately so, since Llly Collins was attending a fashion show for Chanel when she wore it. She used a bluish grape shade for a wash of all-over color on her top lid, drawing it outwards into a futuristic wing shape. A nice purple shadow that leans a little blue like Surratt Artistique Eyeshadow in Violaceous, $20, will do you well for this look, especially if you top it off with your favorite mascara (or even a pair of falsies, if you're feeling particularly festive).

Turns out you can also use lavender eyeshadow for a subtle — albeit slightly alien-esque — glow. Saoirse Ronan wore it to great effect at the 2017 New York Film Critics Awards. A very faint dusting of sheer, shimmery lavender eyeshadow turned out to be the perfect pairing with her bold blackened purple lip and slicked back hair. Just a tiny smattering of Cover FX Shimmer Veils in Amethyst, $28, is all you need for this eye look, though you'll probably also want to pair it with a great purple burgundy lipstick like M.A.C. Lipstick in Cyber, $17.50, if you really want to emulate the sheer drama on display here.

Makeup artist Nina Park captioned this image of Zoe Kravitz, "Like staring into the sun," and that couldn't be more accurate. Kravitz is rocking a dramatic lavender eyeshadow look, especially since the colors in use are so vibrant and shiny. Urban Decay's Moondust Eyeshadow in Intergalactic, $21, might be a good bet for recreating this stellar look.

Former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo certainly isn't one to back down from a challenge — especially not a high-impact makeup look. This all-around amethyst eyeshadow look is downright arresting. You're going to want a high-shine vibrant purple, like Kat Von D Metal Crush Eyeshadow in Danzig, $21.

And taking home the award for most eye-catching use of lavender eyeshadow in the land? Solange Knowles, of course. At the Creatures of Comfort fashion show, she stunned with this ultra-pigmented eyeshadow look, set off to dramatic effect with an otherwise mostly makeup-free complexion. To pull this look off, you'll need a high-impact purple that doesn't pull any punches, like the ColourPop Super Shock Pigment in Daddy, $5.
