A Definite "A" for Argan Oil!
When Josie Maran first's "Argan Oil" was first all over the media, I have to admit that I was a tad intimidated. I couldn't pick up a magazine without seeing at least one article devoted to the benefits of this Moroccan wonder. Oils are widely used and accepted today. Several years ago, they were pretty much relegated to facial and eye makeup removal (think of the huge success of DHC's "Olive O...read moreil" here). I had quite a few reservations: I thought the oil wouldn't absorb into my skin, was sure that it would cause blemishes, was convinced that it would leave my hair oily and heavy, and didn't really see any good uses for it except for the aforementioned makeup removal. At the time I was writing for a making site and received a large bottle (four ounces!) of Josie's oil to review. Hmm . . . well, I had made some strides. I saw that John Frieda's "Frizz-Ease Thermal Protection Serum" had brought new life to my hair, so I bit the proverbial bullet and tried it. This is rich in Vitamin E and essential fatty acids, and I liked that, so I tentatively put a few drops into my hands, rubbed them together, and then gently patted it over my face and neck. The scent was soft and the oil was lightweight. What remained behind was massaged into elbows and cuticles. I was taken aback at this oil's ability to hydrate and plump my skin! I grew more bold. I began to dab a bit daily over my skin for a dewy look. In the winter, it is absolutely essential to bolster my regular moisturizer. I worked it into my hands, feet, and cuticles on a daily basis. My skin LOVED it! I then spread it lightly on split ends and fly-away hairs. When my hair was being particularly stubborn, I washed it and then left the Argan Oil in my hair in a plastic cap while I slept (my husband wasn't thrilled, to say the least). In the morning, it was as if I had someone else's tresses. It was bouncy, shiny, and strong. Now the bottle travels everywhere, including my kitchen, where the oil performs as a first-aid agent to small burns and cuts. I can now laugh at my hesitancy--I love it!This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 6 of 9 people said helpful

Worth it
I have eczema and rosacea. Finding a moisturizer that can adequately hydrate, plump and soothe, but WON'T break me out has been a pain and terrible on my wallet. I have heard every possible rumor about how Josie Maran's Argan Oil is supposed to be the miracle product that can be used from anti-aging purposes to the hair and everything in between. People I've met who also have eczema swear by this ...read moreas one drop is adequate to cover nearly both of their hands. This is a super lightweight oil that promises to hydrate, heal, and protect while feeling weightless on the skin. You can use it in your hair to make your hair smooth, silky and frizz-free. However, I've heard some incredible claims about using this product on your face. The first time I tried it on my face (I had used it in my hair several times in the past), I had put a drop OVER my moisturizer at night. I feel that this oil sat on top of my skin because my moisturizer had already penetrated into my skin (my skin often has difficulty absorbing moisturizers). So I was left with a slightly greasy feeling on my skin, but it didn't feel uncomfortable unless I rubbed my hands all over my face. Then the next night, I heard that most people mix a drop of this oil WITH their night moisturizer, and rub the mix over their face. I did that. Although I still had somewhat of a greasy feeling on my skin (again), it was not as bad as the previous night. I tried this again, but put in less than a drop of the oil (more like a slight streak) in the moisturizer, and that was just about right. My skin felt smooth, super plumped and hydrated. I hope that this oil with soothe my skin the more I use it. So far I haven't had a problem with it breaking out (most people claim it doesn't cause breakouts). So I suggest getting a sample of this first (a little goes a VERY long way!) and trying it out for yourself. The hard part is finding the right amount for YOUR SKIN to use that will hydrate but won't leave it feeling greasy. Also, it's a bit pricey considering it's $14 for a small half ounce vile. That little vile will last quite some time though. This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 18 of 21 people said helpful

Perfect for chapped skin...
I received a sample of the Josie Maran Argan Oil and it worked wonders for my chapped elbows, ankles, and lips. I did not really like it on my face as much as Tarte's Maracuja Oil. Josie's argan oil is great for the body! This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 9 of 12 people said helpful
