Certain foods are good for you and certain foods are bad for you... right? Well, it's actually a lot more complicated than that. We spoke to Laura Silver, a registered dietitian, and she confirmed that it's more of a spectrum. "There is too much talk about categorizing foods based on whether they are 'good' or 'bad'," says Silver. "Foods simply aren't black and white, there are many shades of grey. In general, the more natural and whole a food is, the healthier it is. The more processed a food is, the less healthy it is."
There are lots of times when we need to grab-n-go snacks — but they shouldn't always be junk. Eating processed fats, refined sugars, and other dietary no-nos wreaks havoc on your skin and hair; not to mention your health.
OK, so cocktails aren't inherently healthy — but it is possible to make them a little better for you. The trick to it is surprisingly simple: Skip the mixes with corn syrups, preservatives, and processed sugars and opt for fresh and natural ingredients instead (bonus: They'll make your drinks yummier, too).

There are many reasons behind to switch to a plant-based diet: Some do it for environmental reasons, some for religious, and others for financial or health reasons. And if done correctly, sticking to a vegetarian diet can have some amazing health benefits. As certified nutrition consultant Sarah Considine puts it, "If you are looking to increase longevity and overall wellness, the vegetarian diet is the way to go."
Coffee — or more specifically a flat white with almond milk — is the beverage that fuels us in the morning and makes us feel like functioning human beings. So, it might seem like a major betrayal to coffee addicts to suggest something else to drink in morning... especially beverages that might not contain caffeine (the horror!!). But there's more to mornings than choosing between a latte and a cappuccino, just like there's more to eat for breakfast than avo toast. And if you're on the market for something different, there are some fantastic coffee alternatives (with caffeine and without) that are well-worth a try.

Kombucha is tasty — and it has lots of people kicking their soda addiction. You've heard about how good it is for you: It's got all of the beneficial properties of tea, plus plenty of probiotics for your gut. These helpful bacteria can decrease inflammation and may aid in weight loss — plus, a healthy gut biome has even been shown to improve your mood. It also happens to be super refreshing on a warm day (and makes a damn good cocktail).
Although maintaining good health starts with eating a well-balanced diet, staying hydrated, and exercising regularly, your gut also deserves a little extra TLC — especially since it's so interconnected with your immune health.
According to Quartz, nearly one in five US workers experience debilitating anxiety or depression — and the younger you are, the worse it gets. Thirty percent of respondents who are in the millennial or Gen Z group responded to a survey saying that they experienced anxiety to point where it disrupts work "all the time" or "often."
Protein definitely plays a key role in a healthy diet: The essential macronutrient is a building block for our hair, skin, muscles, and bones. And while protein can easily be obtained through regular consumption of animal proteins, those who observe vegan or vegetarian diets sometimes have to work a little harder to maintain a healthy protein intake, since plant-based foods may not be enough to supply the actual amount of daily protein you need.
