Blistex Silk & Shine blends together the best qualities of balms and glosses. It has SPF protection and silk extracts, plus vitamins A, B5 and E to moisturize. Lips feels soft and look healthy no matter how dry they were to begin with. It also has the shine factor of a gloss, but without the accompanying stickiness. You may feel silly using a lip balm as makeup, but the color-free shine and healthy look is the perfect pairing for dramatic eye makeup.

Disappointed

Very average, doesn't do anything for my lips...
In general, I'm a big fan of Blistex... My two most favourite products from Blistex are the beige and the blue (medicated) lip balm jars. I religiously use one or the other every single day. We have both because my boyfriend has a preference for the blue one, and I tend to reach more for the beige one. So because I like those two so much, I decided that this could be a good companion to our Bli...read morestex couple, because it would add a bit of shine to my lips, as well as protect and moisturise them. And I feel bad giving this a bad review, seeing that it was rated well by the editors, but I honestly found that this didn't add any shine to my lips at all. My lips didn't feel that moisturised either, and to top it all off it left kind of like pasty residue all over my lips. So I've only used it a couple of times and then just trashed it, because I couldn't really give this away to anyone... I didn't feel like I was making a personal choice when I realized I didn't like it - I just found it not to be a good product, because who wants their lips to be pasty, right? And if it looks so pasty, how could it possibly moisturise my lips... I mean, it's got to get in my lips in order to moisturise them, right? This just kind of covers them up with this weird looking substance... So no, definitely thumbs down from me for this one. I'm only giving this five stars because I don't want to bring the brand down with my review, and there are a few products I tried and liked made by Blistex, as well as the Balm jars I'm religiously using...This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Not For Me
I expect a lip product to moisturize and this did not. I love the Blistex Medicated lip tube. You can really feel it working. The Silk and Shine was not shiny and left a residue that was not appealing.This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
