L'Oreal, the Spots Remained!
I am terribly troubled by a few brown spots on my left cheek and one hand. I know I'm making much ado about a little, but I do fear it will lead to more discoloration and so I want to treat it and get rid of it NOW. I turned to L'Oreal's "Youth Code Dark Spot Correcting and Illuminating Serum Corrector." I had high hopes for this; it claims to be the result of "ten years of gene research." I've been very pleased with Pond's "Clarant B3 Moisturizer" with Niacinamide; it did soften my skin while lightening my discolorations. I was sure this would work more quickly. The packaging is sleek, attractive, and sophisticated. L'Oreal claims that eighty-six percent of women saw results. It contains Vitamin C, which I enjoy having in products. It has a subtle, pleasant scent and is easy to apply. After weeks of use, I saw absolutely NO reduction in brown spots nor any particular luminescence or clarity to my complexion. There was a little added softness. It looks like it's back to Pond's for me or a product with Hydroquinone, like the serum from Murad. At least Pond's had a noticeable effect, while "Youth Code" did nothing for me.This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 8 people said helpful

Only Five Stars Because...
Like the other reviewer said, I had high hopes for this product. L'Oreal usually has good quality, cost-effective products, and since the packaging claimed that this product was the offspring of 10 years of gene reasearch, it seems like it would be effective. Well, I should have read the reviews online before wasting $20 on this. I have always known that in order to see results in dark spot reduct...read moreion, I had to be patient, and that it may take months to see results. However, I had finished my entire bottle of serum over the course of about a year and two months, each time covering my whole face and applying twice a day after cleansing. And I saw: No. Results. I did see some of my lightest dark spots disappear, and it evened my skin tone a little bit, but it didn't do a thing to the spots that really troubled me and have been making me self-conscious for at least 10 years. The only reason I gave this product 5 stars is 2 stars for evening out my skin tone a bit and making a few lighter spots disappear, and for the texture, packaging, and scent. The packaging looked so promising! It looked so professional, sleek, clean, neat, and it was easy to take on travel. But as I learned the hard way, that was no reflection on the actual nature of this product. Then, the scent was amazing. It smelled like expensive designer perfume, and I admit it made me happy every time I got a whip of it. Finally, the texture is silky smooth, and the light shimmer I got from it gave me this dewy, fresh look. I will give this product 3 more stars for these good qualities. But the actual purpose of this product was not served. Maybe this would be better as an illuminator for your whole face than a dark spot correcting serum? This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Used it twice a day and didn't notice any difference
I'm very consistent with my skin care routine. I purchased this product with the hope it would diminish some brown spots that are developing on my cheekbones under my eyes. After using the serum under my moisturizer twice a day I haven't noticed any difference. I'm disappointed and will not purchase again. This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
