Too Drunk to Do Your Full Skin Care Routine Sometimes?
- Posted by Kristen on April 22, 2010 at 04:55PM
I can't lie -- it was last night. Hope the boss isn't reading. Anywho if you're just too tipsy or tired before you hit the sack, but know the skin gods will curse you from above (by way of a gigantic zit) if you were to skip a washing, check out which face wipes will take off every last bit of that black liquid liner (this one's my fave) and the shellac you call concealer (see top-rated ones here). These 9 Best Face Cleansing Towelettes, ahem wiped out the competition.
Can You Separate Anti-Aging Skin Care Facts from Fiction?
- Posted by Kristen on April 21, 2010 at 04:42PM
There's so much anti-aging hoopla in the air, it's hard to know what's fact and what's fiction: Is caffeine good for your skin or bad for it? Can having more sex actually help fight aging? How much of your Vitamin D should come from sunshine? Do anti-aging products really work?
A Beauty Fan's Guide to Facebook

I'm a late Facebook bloomer. Until I joined, I would get hostile-ish emails from friends like, "check out this link to photos from last night's party, unless you're (gasp!) not on Facebook" and "my goodness girl, please get on Facebook so people with boring desk jobs like mine can keep track of (and stalk) you!" Just as I was starting to feel like a social-networking leper, I finally succumbed, albeit kicking and screaming.
Best Hair Care Products: Color-Safe Shampoos

So I got a haircut recently (not one of the daring 'dos seen in these photos ), but a nice little update. Unlike some people that get the whole hair shebang (cut and color) done in one sitting, I prefer to space it out. Why? 1. I get antsy being at a salon too long. 2. It's a big chunk of money to cough up at once (which reminds me of this fab luxe vs. less hair care round up -- it's not to be missed). 3. It's fun to double the just-walked-out-of-the-salon look. 4. I have been going steady with my colorist, but I cheat on him with other stylists for haircuts (sorry, Rick!). 5. Getting a cut usually makes my color look better and visa versa.
Copy These Sexy Voluminous Hairstyles

I finally got a much-needed haircut. Damn, it feels good. I feel lighter and fresher and hip-er. My scissor-happy hairstylist rejoiced at the sound of three plus inches of wet, conditioner-saturated hair hitting the floor. It wasn't like I got something super edgy or drastic like the trendy undercut look seen on this celeb, but I went from flower-child long to a polished, shorter-long 'do.One of the chicks in the salon actually said the cut made my face light up (perhaps because it was the best cut for my face shape).
Best and Worst Celebrity Hairstyles on "Dancing with the Stars"

As I developed a big love for the art of dance in college -- it was my minor -- (speaking of "Big Love", see which character from that show made our worst-hair list) I also learned how undervalued it is. Until now whether you love or love to hate reality TV, the resurgence of talent competition shows a la "Star Search" and the major success of "Dancing with the Stars" -- now 10 seasons deep -- has America finally appreciating dance.
2010 Breakthroughs in Beauty Products

I really want an iPad. It's so freakin' nifty. It's like the love child of my iPhone and my Mac laptop. Clearly, I'm a Mac snob (and incidentally, I heart MAC makeup too, so it comes as no surprise that it won a TotalBeauty.com Readers' Choice Award for Best Lipstick) and Steve Jobs et al. never cease to come up with breakthroughs in why-didn't-we-think-of-that technology.
How to Get 15 Minutes of Beautiful Hair Fame

Personally, I am much more comfortable behind the scenes than I am in the spotlight. That's why I'm always so amazed by people voluntarily putting their lives on display in the form of reality TV (because they're at risk for things like making a worst-hairstyles list -- like this one about "Dancing with the Stars"). Would you ever want to be a reality TV star? What about becoming the first reality hair star?

The Best Celebrity Makeup Looks For Your Face Shape

Without looking in the mirror, do you know what shape your face is? I think I'm round (if you are too, check out the best hairstyles for round face shapes), but then when I asked the gals in my office, some of them agreed with me, but others said I'm more heart-shaped and one said I'm oval. Hmmm well, at least I can rule out square
